DIY envelope with fake rice paper

The promised DIY post:
"How to make a fake rice paper envelope"

Using the new collection:
"This Lovely Life" by Annette Green

How to make fake rice paper:

Use 1 part of coffee and 2 parts of tacky glue and mix it well together.
(Instead of coffee you can also use tea or water with distress ink).

Use an insert sleeve and mark the size of your napkin
Add the mixture with a brush on your sleeve

Add one layer of your napkin or tissue paper
and another layer of your mixture.
You can make more wrinkles in your paper if you like.

If you like a thicker piece of paper:
add another layer of tissue paper and another layer of the mixture.

Push against the edges of your paper to make them thicker.
Let it dry for a night.

Now you can take your fake rice paper of the insert sleeve.

Decorate it with clear stamps and Stazon if you like.

Use a thin layer of water based markers to add some color.
(Be careful: the glue will dissolve).

 How to make the envelope:

Add the swirls from CS351 with sepia colored ink
on a thin piece of paper and let it dry.

Add a thin layer of tacky glue with a brush and paste your fake rice paper on it.
I added another layer of tacky glue mixed with water and distress ink.
Let it dry for a night.

Use a clean plate in your die cutting machine,
because the paper can still be a bit sticky.
Use border die cutting folder 2139 to trim the edges.

Make stitches on the flap with your sewing machine.
Fold your envelope and stitch the edges.
Take care you don't stitch the flap to the rest of the envelope.

Stamp with stazon text, clocks and more if you like on the envelope.

Use another piece of fake rice paper and stamps clocks and a butterfly on it.
Color this with water based makers and fussy cut the images out.
Add a thin layer of tacky glue behind the pieces and paste it on your envelope.

Your envelope is finished.
